Who We Are

Camp good News at Camp Allen is reserved for children of offenders. Thirty children aged 10-12 and another thirty aged 13-15 are accepted each year for a one week Christian based camp held June 6-11, 2010. Children are allowed to return as long as they fall into the age grouping noted above. There is no cost to the families for camp.

Our Vision

Children of inmates are, statistically, an at-risk population. Camp Good News seeks to assure these children that they are loved by God and members of the Body of Christ. Each session has a biblical theme which stresses the word of God and applies it to their life situation. Christmas and birthday cards and telephone contact follows the summer camp.

Types Of Activity

All the activities associated with camps take place. These include swimming, blobbing, canoeing, ropes, nature studies, basketball, hiking, drama, music and singing, and arts and crafts. Worship and Bible study are a part of every day.
