Who We Are

HeartBound Ministries is a Christian outreach ministry that supports and equips Georgia prison chaplains and ministers to inmates through a variety of programs including prison adoption, book, bible, and video distribution, music and drama evangelism, workshops, mentoring, evangelistic speakers, indigent hygiene distribution, holiday gift bags and more.

Our Vision

Our vision is to support and equip Georgia's prison chaplains and to reach inmates for Jesus Christ. One of our goals is to see the restoration of full-time chaplains in Georgia's prisons. As a result of budget cuts, Georgia chaplains have been relegated to meeting the needs of over 54,000 inmates on just 20 hours a week. We believe that chaplaincy and faith-based initiatives have the strongest capacity for positively impacting inmates' lives and reduce recidivism rates.

Types Of Activity

Prison adoption, book, bible and video distribution, financial and job skills workshops, mentoring, music and drama, speakers, indigent hygiene distribution, holiday gift bags and more.

Location

Georgia's 37 state prisons, private prisons, jails and various transitional centers.

"Chaplaincy Matters, " a free quarterly newsletter for Georgia prison chaplains. We also have a monthly newsletter for our donors.

About Our Prison Ministry

HeartBound was named a 2004 "Faith-Based Contributor of the Year" by the Georgia Department of Corrections.
